Sr. HSE Coordinator
The HSE Field Specialist is responsible to monitor and document construction activity for compliance with the Health and Safety policies, procedures and guidelines and all applicable permits, approvals and authorizations. Interacts with services personnel, clients, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies to research and interpret HSE standards, codes and regulations.
Creates incident reports and performs inspections to ensure conformity in all areas of HSE. Assists in development and implementation of systems and standards to facilitate the capturing and analysis of HSE statistics. Keeps informed of regulatory requirements and auditing standards. Determines requisite for and organizes audits of company supervised/operated properties.
Attendance at site management walks and the tailgate meetings to convey HSE guidelines and regulations as well as daily HSE reports will also be a function on the job. Under general supervision, and occasional direct supervision, performs assignments requiring experience and knowledge of standard concepts within their field.
Displays core job competencies by analyzing possible solutions using standard procedures while developing advanced skills.
As this is a night shift position, the individual must be able to work in the elements throughout the entire year and participate in inspecting activities in varying topography within a rugged remote site.
Skills required for this job are typically acquired through the completion of an undergraduate degree and 5+ years of experience, or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree. Experience on industrial construction site executing similar work in BC would be an asset. NCSO/CSO certification would also be considered an asset.
Ability to communicate effectively with fellow employees, clients, regulators, as well as the public.
Knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook required. Able to work hours based on requirements of clients and projects (evening and/or weekend work as required)
